Qing Ming or Tomb-Sweeping Festival is a time of the year when we pay respect and show gratitude to our ancestors and departed loved ones. According to Buddhist teachings, the greatest gift one can give one’s departed loved ones and ancestors is to perform acts of merit and dedicate these merits to them.
This coming 5th Sunday, 30 March, 2.15pm, DCS will be holding our annual Qing Ming Transference of Merit Ceremony. During the Ceremony, our Sangha will be chanting the Abdhidhamma Scripture, the same Scripture that the Buddha delivered to his deceased mother and other heavenly beings in the second level of Heaven, Tavatimsa.
Led by the Sangha, while listening to the chanting, we will calm our mind and transfer merits to our ancestors and departed loved ones.
