Alms Offering, Sharing Happiness

Start the New Year on an auspicious note. Join us for a special Alms Offering ceremony on 1 January 2025.

The tradition of alms-round and food offerings is an ancient and honourable Buddhist practice. Alms offering is a virtuous act where monks and laypeople engage in giving and receiving.

The lay community provides food and sustenance to the monks, while the monks offer spiritual guidance to the laity through Dhamma teachings. This helps the lay communities to lead their secular lives positively and sets them on the path to enlightenment.

On the first day of a brand new year, please join us in this noble act of giving.

DCS will prepare the items for the alms offering so it’s convenient for all to participate. These items include Crackers, Milo, Coffee, Oats, Medicated oil, Toothpaste, and Toothbrush.

After the ceremony, some items will be donated to seniors and families in need.
